    So you're hoping to distribute the core material free and then rely on dedicated fans to purchase supplementary material?

    Well I guess if you distributed a low-quality version free, you could get people to pay for high-quality versions...but then there will be others such as yours truly who will be satisfied with the low-quality version.

    Then again, such people will find the inevitable illicit torrents anyway.

    When I have a choice of torrents, I tend to download the smallest-filesize-with-acceptable-quality version.  And by quality I generally mean translation quality or dual-audio or whatever.  I don't care much for gigantic pixel resolutions.
