I keep forgetting my ideas for a Pokemon game.

  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
If I did that, I'd have to come up with ~200 'mons of my own.

And I suck at naming. So I'd have to pay someone to name them all for me.
You could always go the Megami Tensei route and use mythological figures.

Of course, then you're making a Megaten ripoff :P
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
    Boo ripoffs

Nah, it's OK. I figured it out.
  • If that don't work, use more gun.
"Bug needs a bit of a revamp, to make it relevant outside of the Level 1-30 zone."

Nah.  Bug's fine by itself.  It just had a lot of really terrible Pokemon associated with it until Gen V.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
I suppose I could always run both games...

Yeah, that's it. This one will now be my Pokemon one thread.

Volcarona is an excellent late game bug type. Possibly the best.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
    Volcarona is also half-Fire type.

So? Scissor is Bug/Steel, Heracross is Bug/Fighting, Galvantula is Bug/Electric. These guys are some of the best. They have excellent bug type moves. Volcarona is my favorite.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
So, my problem is that bug-types are useless on their own. They usually need another typing to stand on their own.

I want pure bug-types to be able to stand on their own.

    Whatever.

Also, about Normal type. It is my favorite, and is definitely not average. Wide range of stats, large movepools, one weakness.
  • Normal type is Porygon Z's type.  Therefore, it is my favorite type.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
One weakness, no advantages. Several types that resist their moves. One type that is completely immune to them.

They are good defensively, but Rock and Steel are better. And Ghost is even better in this regard, seeing as only two pokemon are super-effective against them, two types of Pokemon, including one of the most commonly used offensive types, can't touch them, and they have high Defenses on average.
  • If that don't work, use more gun.
"So, my problem is that bug-types are useless on their own. They usually need another typing to stand on their own.

Well, there's not many pure bug types to be honest.  Most of them are just pre-evolutions or weak ones.

    I know :<

But... I want them to be able to, even if there's only a few that can do it anyway, yunno?
  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
    I agree with AHR.

These ideas would be better in an original game. It doesn't have to be a mon game, either... a whole heap of these ideas could apply to a party of characters.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
I am already looking at this.

But I wouldn't know where to make a thread on it, see.

I do have a few ideas towards it, however.
  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
Also, plenty of these ideas would work just as well outside a turn-based game.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
But it's a lot easier to make a turn-based game than an action game. It requires a lot less programming skill, hence I can make it easier.

If we battled Cygan, I would bet monet that I could beat you with an all Normal team, regardless of what typing you used.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
    Garchomp sayz different.

    No Pokemon is unstoppable.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
Not if you have the right Pokemon to stop him.

Of which Normal types are not one.
  • $80+ per session
    BS.

Normal type probably has more variety than any other type. I could kick a Garchomp's ass easy.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
    haha what
  • $80+ per session
I'm serious. If'n I had a copy of the game, I could probably beat whatevah you've got with normal types.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
    Good luck with that then.
  • Porygon-Z can one-shot Garchomp by using Ice Beam... >.>
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
Garchomp outspeeds it and can one-shot it with Draco Meteor.

You can also just hand Garchomp a Focus Band.
  • You are supposed to give Garchomp a Yache Berry, use dragon dance and destroy everything in your path

Unless this calculator is wrong or I entered stats wrong, Garchomp using Draco Meteor shouldn't be able to one-shot Porygon-Z even with one Dragon Dance.

Er... never mind.  Maybe.  Hold on.

Yeah, I was wrong.  Though, Porygon-Z could survive, depending on its EVs.

    Put it this way, DYRE:

There's a reason Garchomp is in the Uber Tier, along with Wobuffet and the Legendaries.
