All my Pokemon are weak to grass-types

  • It's actually very fun.
  • Kichigai birthday!!
    Nuzlocke,you mean?

I have only lost 5 Pokemon. Then I decided to overgrind
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Finished my to-do list. It's six pages...

    This could take awhile.
  • $80+ per session
A 3DS would also be perfect for Pokemon Snap.
  • The first time I played it, all my mons were weak against something each of Winona's mons had, and typings didn't favour me against the twins or Wallace, either. Good times.

And on Touhou Puppet Play, 5/6 of my mons were weak against fire, until Cirno evolved into ExCirno, making her into a Water/Ice type that can learn surf and loads and loads of Sp. Attack and Speed to one-shot Blaine's mons before they move. Good times.

Argh. Why won't Dunsparce appear? It's a freaking 90% rate...

EDIT:Naturally, right after I posted that, one showed up :P
  • a little muffled
So, this is the Pokémon thread, huh?

I really need to finish Black. I got to the the Elite Four and then just kinda...stopped, for reasons that are a mystery to me.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
I've done that sometimes. Did you still need to grind before beating them, by any chance?
  • Anyone who needs to grind to take on the Elite 4 in B/W is doing it wrong. What comes after the E4 maybe but not the E4 themselves.

  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
    Eh, I still haven't played B/W, so I wouldn't know.
  • a little muffled
Maybe, but not too much. I think I took out three of the four last time I tried.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
Wait, since when was Zubat a powerful pokémon?

Since they fuckin' gave one to Team Galactic. Just to piss us off, I reckon.

My advice... Get your hands on a Flying type. They're common enough in every game. Find the equivalent to a Pidgey ... rather than a Ratatta clone (e.g. Bidoof).

Can't. Can only catch the first one I found. This was not a Starly, I'm afraid.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Well, I made a little progress on my to-do list today. I managed to catch Qwilfish and Dunsparce, obtain Tyrogue and get my Pidgeotto almost to the level where it evolves.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
    Which game? Leaf Green?
  • You guys REALLY need to get around to Gen 5. Seriously.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
Meh. I have it and am playing it too, but nobody else here seems to have it so I'd be talking to myself.

The Electric Gym in Black will murder you with Volt Switch.
  • $80+ per session
    I hated her Emolga.
  • Excadrill for the win. Rock throw for the Emolga, earthquake/dig for the rest.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
I ended up JUST winning. Seriously, I was on like, five health.
  • Nicely done.
Almost makes me want to try one of the later generation games myself....

BUT I decided that if I was going to play any handheld game any time soon, it'd be Super Scribblenauts.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
No. Bad Zapdos. No one-shotting Lugia even though it's 20 levels higher than you. How the hell did you even do that?
  • You're not very good at Pokémon, are you?

    OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Apparently, I'm very good, since that attack apparently did about ten times as much damage as it was even capable of doing.

    EDIT: Restarted, caught him :D
  • Strength and skill are different things, y'know?   =/

I usually have a special set of Pokémon solely for catching legendaries. Super Fang helps, if used right.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Eh, well, I caught him on my second try. It was just an unlucky critical hit. This time, I had Lugia wear out all its damaging moves against Zapdos's Pressure, then switched to a Shedinja with false swipe to bring it the rest of the way down to 1 HP, switched to Hypno, put him to sleep and threw a few heavy balls (which have a completely absurd x8 catch rate against Lugia). Easy.
  • That works. Shedinja is kinda fun, no?  ^_^

Don't suppose you've ever seen what a Shedinja with Endeavor can do though, have you?
No, it can't be achieved legitimately... but I had a genetically engineered Endeavor-Shedinja in Pokémon Ruby just for fun. Guaranteed 2-hit-kill against anything that couldn't specifically damage Shedinja (though to be fair, a bug / ghost has a lot of weaknesses).
  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
Wait a minute, Zubat doesn't learn Giga Drain naturally. And random Pokemon trainers don't usually use TMs. How did you come across a Zubat with Giga Drain?
  • Pokémon used by enemy trainers can have any moves they want, sadly.
  • I'm a damn twisted person
Delta - the problem with that suggestion, is that by the time you get to Nimbassa city, you can't catch a wild drillbur, so you have no access to one outside of trading.

Myself I decided to take them down with dwebble. Stealth Rock to punish them for using switching moves and smack down to knock the emolga's out of the air.
