    Yes, yes it was.  K-On! had so much yuri subtext.  It was amazing.  That is why it's the best show ever.

    In any case, what I meant was, while Hetalia's yaoiness is comparable to K-On!'s yuriness, I still felt like it was somehow less than the amount the fans made it out to be.  Which mostly is a comment on the ridiculously enormous amount of fanmade Hetalia yaoi stuff, I guess.

    From what i've generally seen,

    Shows with lots of yuri tend to get fanmade porn of them having sex with men. Or having sex with each other and letting men watch them and ejaculate on them. These men are almost always not characters in the actual show (assuming there was a male one in the first place) and are most likely either faceless or disgusting. Or both.

    Shows with lots of yaoi have more rape within their fanworks but usually have the characters actually comparably attractive which come from the original work.

    There will almost always be less of something in canon than what fans claim, unless it is what they percieve as a bad thing.
