HAHAHA, that just happened to me, man.

Sorry. I ended up making the thread before I realized how far my head was up my ass, so once I realized that, I didn't see a point in keeping it around.

Is this a major problem for anyone?
  • Not really, but making these threads has been a tradition since the times of Anonus.

Well, I mean, I'm still annoyed at the posts I cited in that thread, but I realized that not everyone is in it to argue.
  • Wait, how did you delete your own thread?

Same way I would delete a post; delete the OP, and the whole discussion goes bye-bye. I can delete my own posts, and I've done so numerous times.

V Or, well, that, if you didn't know already.

    Mod powers.

@Everest: if you want me to argue, it is all fine and dandy, but this place is hardly serious and you have to expect some joking around mixed up with it.

And, most importantly, the other side has also to provide intelligent discussion. If your "intelligent discussion" is "LOL X is better than Y" and "My show has moar complexity than yours" then well, you're missing the point of the definition.

  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
I thought Everest had a decent point.

Some of the posts he pointed out are indicative of our ability to use the forum's attitude as a shield when we don't want to put effort into a point.

^^ I guess it's just not my type of joking around. Not anymore, anyway.

I'm allowed to be bugged by joking. I just remembered now that making a thread over it, while forgetting a key detail, is a horrible idea.

And I was also probably stupid for expecting intelligent discussion in a media war thread on IJBM.

^^I thought I made a point on the fact that comparing MLP (I.E a work) to porn was prespoterous, as it was a generalization. As well as to the fact that indeed Gelzo had implied that MLP has some degree of complexity which is a hard-to-believe claim.

Admittedly, I did snark at people, because I'm honestly tired of the whole dick waving and cockfighting of tastes going on around here, where everyone automatically goes "X Lol"

And if you expect that treating them seriously somehow solves the issue, then do it, but I'm not gonna do it. I'm not gonna stop snarking nor having fun here simply because I could also argue. I believe in balance.

^ Not really. I reall liked the thread on TGWTG. -shrug- It can happen. As long as we don't talk about the juggernauts (Homestuck, Ponies, Lolis, etc etc)

MLP has characters and a narrative, therefore it is more complex than pinball music.

^^^ Fair enough. I won't contest that at this point. And as I said, anything that turns into an argument around here tends to do that anyway.

And I agree that the dickwaving is annoying. It's really the manner in which opinions were conveyed that bugged me more than the opinions, in the end.
  • ^^Listen to that.

    LISTEN TO IT
  • You can change. You can.
    1. You edited your post.
    2. And you're missing the point of what I said.
How am I supposed to take you seriously?
  • 1. I thought of a much, much better example before you responded.
    2. This isn't a terribly serious debate. If it was, I wouldn't be posting.
  • You can change. You can.
Nothing is terribly serious, but if you're gonna point at me and say that I'm being...something, then you have to explain why.
  • curses

the E3 thread was locked like right before I got to post my comment
  • $80+ per session
    Same.
  • Well it was directed at Chagen anyway so I guess it doesn't matter enough...
