    Avatar.

  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
Avatar is not aimed at adults, I am afraid :(

    Debatable.

No, it has a target demographic it was aimed at.
  • Can you list any examples?

It is aimed primarily at boys/young male teenagers.

It appeals to many other demographics, however.

    Pony Sleuth
A kid-friendly animated work aimed at adults, with no overarching story? Is that what you're asking for?

    Wait, now I'm confused.

Yes. It is an honest question- I am afraid I do not keep up with western animation very much any more.

I have also been informed that it is older teenagers it was aimed at, not younger. I always get them mixed up.
  • Well I'd like to say Freakazoid! because it had a lot of parental bonuses and attracted an older demographic, but it was apparently marketed to kids, so maybe it doesn't count. I'm not sure what the creators intended, though. You probably wouldn't accept that example.

I think Regular Show is a good example, but there's a lot of Getting Crap Past the Radar, so that fails to meet the "no adult humor" provision.

Ah! How about the older animations? I think things like old Bugs Bunny cartoons were supposed to appeal to adults.

What about this sort of animation?

It stopped loading at 0:48 and has not loaded since.
  • Battle Royale is suitable for children of all ages.

I'm talking about the book, the manga, the film AND the premise of the aforementioned media.
WHAT KIND OF A SOCIETY DO WE LIVE IN WHERE KIDS CAN'T WATCH OTHER KIDS KILLING EACH OTHER?!

    Stylised, multicoloured ponies though?
NEVAR! Do we want our children growing up to be profligates?!
Definitely not. That is what they have to kill each other and watch each other kill each other for.
