COMMENCE WATCHING OF TV TROPES FUELLED CONTROVERSIAL ANIME
Episode one, initiate.
The intro song is very catchy and the opening was awesome.
Is this gonna be like a liveblog or what?
Then, an N2 Mine is launched, with a very magnificently powerful explosion to pack. Really brilliantly drawn. It's kind of awesome....but it's still alive...and...it looks to me it has...gills?
....and it's biological? bleeding?
And yes I'm starting now that I don't want to play Minecraft of TF2 right now.
In all honesty I tried to avoid spoilers as much as possible, but I know that shinji is congratulated at the end, and there are hundreds of clones of Rei. Context beyond that, no, this about all I know. That, and Rei gets naked in the movie and something horrible happens to Asuka that wasn't evaluated on.
Misato is the name of the blue haired woman. She seems very light-hearted and enjoyable, even when her car is flipped over by an explosion and nearly destroyed into disrepair. And she steals batteries from other cars and uses tape to hold it together. Reminds me of how I fixed my car....
They have a massive golden city right underground...and that's the underground base for NERV. I wonder how long it took them to build that, and how many people are there. Car elevators? Awesome. Ritsuko is the name of another woman, who is blonde and has a mole. As they are riding on another open elevator I see a giant hand in the background...nobody pays mind to it.
Now it pans back to Gendo and the military group....and they mention the term "Synthetic Lifeform". So apparently, from what I can piece together, they might be gigantic biomechs rather than whatever I was imaging them as...giant aliens or whatever.
And now Shinji faces his dad for the first time and gets ready to pilot this massive purple robot....and he's bitching around now. Shinji is very whiny. Extremely whiny. Apparently he's not going to pilot the EVA today. So then they wheel Rei out of the back on a stretcher to pilot the EVA for him since he refuses to do it....i'm not sure how this is going to work out but hell, Shinji. And then giant beams of light shaped like crosses begin to incinerate everything, Rei falls over and rubble almost kills Shinji.
And the mech moves by itself and stops the heavy rubble from falling upon him. It seems that after tending to Rei he decides to pilot the EVA. I mean, that's kind of nice of him, because making a bandaged up girl with only one available eye being fed an IV is kind of fucked up.
Holy shit I forgot how huge it was. and the gears and metal parts are fascinating to look at. And then the episode ends.
12:25 right now. probably not enough time to watch another episode until my lunch break.
