What Mousa says as well.
As for the male professor thing, that has to do more with the "male default" thing, but they are getting better with that, so I don't complain about it as much as I did before DPP came out.
That does not mean they do not exist.
Well, it does in Pokémon, but only until gen V. Only then do they include female researchers of any sort.
Also AHR, you're slowly eroding my love for Pokemon again.
"And I was unaware it was impossible to enjoy a work because it was being analyzed or discussed from an alternate perspective."
Most people aren't going to be thrilled if you drop in with a list of flaws, including instances of sexism and racism, because it feels like bashing. I could rip apart my favorite works from a purely sociological perspective, but I'd save it for a critical discussion, not a fan thread.
The thing I'm more concerned about Pokemon is how useless the moms are.
Sammy: Usually, they don't make critical discussion threads, just general threads. All the shipping, the gushing, the peeving, all in one thread.
Nohay: Another valid sexism problem.
I saw a theory in /vp/ that said your parents were divorced in that game.
^ It's not a Japan only problem. The same thing happens with Disney movies, but with the opposite sex( i.e no one has a mother)
...Oh you poor bastard. I oughta come over to Virginia/Pennsylvania and beat your ass.

Which is why I never read them.
Interesting concept, so American in the land of the rising sun? I'll take a read sometime.
Now that I think better, I think it was /int/ rather than /jp/
/int/ is a fun board
