I wouldn't consider myself a goth.
Yeah yeah, I'm a black-wearing, nocturnal misery-guts with a favourable attitude to death and destruction... but it isn't through any desire to become part of some culture or whatever. Black is nicely comfortable, predictable, easy on the eyes, easy on the skin... It is easier for me to stay awake at night than during the day, and besides I feel exposed and vulnerable if people can see me when I'm outside... so night is just better. The misery thing? Dodgy brain-chemistry, I guess. Don't much care most of the time.
The death-destruction thing... best not get into that again. Trying to explain how much better it is to return to nothingness tends to fall on deaf ears when talking to folks with a life-fixation.
And the Crow poster? Think of any justification you like and you're probably at least a bit right. The boring answer is that anyone who ever went to university probably got a load of random posters they thought were cool at the time. Also see this.
