    To clarify, he said that the camps weren't a good idea at all.

    But then he pulled Fair For Its Day. Basically, "well...people back then were racist, so it's not surprising that they did it".

    That's more sensible than I'd have thought. I would have expected that he defends the camps or even denies that they existed.
