Sometimes I feel like the only person in the entire world/internet who hasn't watched a single one of the Disney animated classics. 

And then people talk about them and I'm completely lost on the conversation. I didn't even know these movies were that popular till I got to TvTropes.

    It's not so bad. Some people have never watched The Simpsons, and my friend's girlfriend never heard of The Daily Show or Futurama until we introduced them to her.

    Not all of them are that great, but I really suggest The Lion King.

    I can relate...not to the Disney thing, of course, I'm a total Disney fanboygirlthing, but I can relate to not having seen media that are considered "classic" and assumed to be familiar to everybody.

    Though oddly, I can't think of any examples at the moment.

    Of course, it is absolutely horrible that he never ever saw one of those movies. It's practically a crime against humanity and unless Chagen watches them all soon, he should be executed for it.

    ...I don't like Disney's animated movies, period. Mostly because of the singing, the sidekicks and knowing I'm too ignorant to know which fable or greco-roman myth or Shakespeare play they're bastardizing.

    Why would you?  Hamlet has a shitty plot with a downer ending, and if anything it's like Evangelion minus the interesting cast of characters and the brilliant soundtrack.

    That said, I actually meant to try watching Digimon for a while.  I hear it has a more interesting plot than Pokémon.

    ^It does. I mean first of all it has a plot. And a lot of the character interactions and development are gold. But don't expect too much from the monster partners themselves besides minimum necessary characterization.

    The funny thing is that I know a lot of those songs through the Disney Sing-Along Songs series, even though I haven't seen the whole movies.

    This includes The Aristocats, Lady and the Tramp, Song of the South, and others.

    The Jungle Book barely doesn't count, because I've seen it once, but I barely remember ANY of it.  The only parts I really remember are King Louie's song "I Wanna Be Like You" and Baloo's song "Bare Necessities".  And Mowgli going back to human civilization at the end.  And my thinking that Mowgli was a girl.
