Well, considering how human reproduction works, I think you would kind of need to be an extremist to say that the world would be better off with men. I suppose you could also just want the end of the human race, but I am thinking that would be pretty extreme too. My guess is that when people really say something like "the world would be better off without men" they are really just exaggerating and mean they do not like men for whatever reason. I could be wrong about that though because I have never heard someone say that in real life before.
It strikes me as silly to complain about an entire half of the population. I think that just leads to rather silly generalizations. I find this type of statement even stranger when I hear men say it because I feel it implies that since they are male they know how men are and thus can make such a judgement (which I do not believe is true). That being said, I can understand being a woman and seemingly fitting in better with men or being a man and fitting in better with women. Yet, I think dismissing an entire half of the population because of that is pretty inappropriate.
Still, I hear that in some countries the opposite problem is pretty prevalent and obviously problematic (i.e. the missing women issue). Even if one ignores the rather obvious ethical issues with female infanticide and such, I think that kind of approach to gender can really mess up a society's view of women and wreck havoc with its age structure as there are fewer women than men and probably significantly fewer healthy women than healthy men.
I've encountered people who actually want to kill all men in the world, though. That's when it gets actually creepy.

I don't think that misandrists necessarily hate men on a visceral level, though. Like Nerd Diggers, they're often too ugly or horrible that they find themselves bereft of male attention. Unlike the Nerd Diggers, they choose to address their unsated lust for cock by violently spewing empty-headed anti-male rhetoric. It's similar to a baby flailing its arms when it's hungry; they really just want a man to stick his dick inside them.
