So many people say this, and I don't really get why.

Why does no one realize that white-on-black is healthier for the eyes than black-on-white?

    Well, I know that I for one prefer black-on-white, just because it's so much more common.  So if a website has white-on-black (or some other light-on-dark) and then I switch to a different website, more often than not the contrast between the two sites will hurt my eyes...

    It is. I think it's because the huge amount of white can "blind" the eyes. You've never turned on a really bright page and felt like your eyes were being seared?

    My room is mostly white in color so no not really.

    The only time where my eyes start to hurt when the screen is too bright is when all the other lights around me are turned off.

    The main light of my room isn't colored yellow or blue or something other than white too.

    I think my eyes got too used to it.
