Traditional-style JRPG turn-based battles
Comments
I like Turn Based combat, I find it helps be more strategic.
I like live combat, I find it is more exciting.

me one of the factors is the visuals of the attacks. Due to the turn
based battle system there is more focus on snazzy looking attacks, and
this is one of the things I appreciate.
Y'know, this would be nice if the battles were actually the focus of the game. For example, in tactical RPGs, this is awesome.
However, when I'm trying to advance the story or explore the dungeon, this becomes tedious.
And maybe a Final Fantasy II with non-shitty enemies and no Blood Sword.
That said, I prefer FFVI's over either of those's.
And then, Quina.
Mostly because Ashe/Vaan isn't wearing it
^ In FFXII you selected a few gambits and just moved the joystick for almost the entire game. Yeah, their system wasn't too good.
Eventually after awhile though it became more favorable to use beatsticks than "black mages" since the fights revolved around 1 enemy commonly, and spamming Blizzaga or some other high power spell was less proficient than hitting an enemy with a Deathbringer sword with a 10% chance of an extra attack along with it, and still do the same damage to them since the max was 9999 (in the International one there were jobs and no damage cap so other spells targeting weaknesses were albeit better).
