  • They're somethin' else.
Yeah, there we go. The hippies couldn't handle the byproducts of their own subculture, same with anonychan. Any subculture that stupid deserves to die.
  • Schizo.......I'm not sure what to say that's just horerific.
  • It's an idea, not a human being.
  • and ideas deserve to die? That is bigotry good sir. though Genocide may not be the best word perhaps Democide since they arn'ta  Genus so much as a demogaphic?
  • They're somethin' else.
and there are no deaths. Unless you count anhero. So there. Fuck yeah, 4chan. Kill yourselves for your glory.
  • ^^ So, tnu, what's your opinion on the school of thought that says women should be stoned for adultery? Should we go out of our way to preserve that?

An idea has no inherent right to life. It must survive on its own merits.
  • Because you never know what you might see.
I don't think it's helpful to look at it in terms of deservedness.  If Anonymous fizzles out now, it'll be because they didn't have staying power and couldn't compete with the influx of outsiders into their domain, as it were.  It's just something that happens to subcultures over time.
  • They're somethin' else.
    My point exactly, Khwarizmi

ok maybe paradocide would be the better word in this case.

Iaculus: Are you strawmanning me good sir? the point is that ideas themselves always haver a right to exist andwithout record of them it is a tragic loss. Every idea has value to some dagree.

    They're somethin' else.
-cide is about to get it's own topic on this forum -_-

And it's been stated before: No one intentionally killed this subculture except for the site owner(s) and quite possibly the subculture itself for doing nothing to help themselves out of this rut despite seeing signs of their demise all too clearly.

Did I say demise? I meant demotion into old meme.
  • tghat would actually be a good topic Schitzo certainly worth takinga look at.
  • No one is strawmanning you. You're already too much of a strawman for it to be worth the time.
  • I beg your pardon? is it nessecary for you to always antagonize me Myrm?
  • edited 2011-04-27 16:38:03
Because you never know what you might see.
You of all people should know that strawmanning doesn't work that way, Myrm.

(For the record, I don't agree with tnu, it just pains me to see the word misused in that way.)
  • also Myrm that vaguely looks like Yuuzahn Vong technology in your avatar am I correct?

Except hippy didn't die completely. Sure, most of the first wave spent the Seventies doing all they could to betray their former ideals, but you still get individual Boomers (and younger) with a love of tye dye, patchouli and a penchant for ecoterrorism (well, maybe not the third one). Even if 4chan collapses and it's fairweather allies drift elsewhere, you'll still get individuals who'll act as if /b/ is still (not) their personal army.

Edit: Stupid Vanilla and their stupid invisible tags that you can't remove. It Just Bugs Me.
