Auggggghhhhhhhhh! I fucking hate this state, for fuck's sake, it's already one-fucking hundred degrees out everyday. The lows are in the freakin' 80's, and by around 3-4 it's around 100.

God, I fucking envy you northerners/Euros, you don't have to experience the sun attempting to broil you alive. I stopped for like two seconds and I felt like I was in an oven. I hate this state, and this town.

Fuck.

FUCK!!

Don't worry, we're getting hit hard with it too.  We got so freakin' much snowfall here this past winter that collapsed roofs around the state became a real phenomenon when it was basically one blizzard a week.

And then there's that huge spate of tornadoes that just smashed Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, and North Carolina.

    ^ 100 - 32 = 64, 64 * 5/9 ~= 7 * 5 = 35.

    Google says 38°C.

    80 F = 26.667 C

    100 F = 37.778 C

When in Turkey, ROCK THE FUCK OUT
Fact: I was hiking in Maryland the same day those storms were plowing their way through Virginia.

    It was not fun.

As a fellow Texan, I much prefer the heat to the idea of the snowy, frozen North.
Also, this thread was NOT what I expected it to be. :-)
  • Uhg. The valley gets just as hot. Once summer hits we'll be in triple digits.

    I visited Utah once

First time in my life that it was too hot for even me
  • When in Turkey, ROCK THE FUCK OUT
Amazingly enough, I was not too hot on my vacation to Death Valley. Helped that it was December, I suppose, but the temperature hovered around 80 most of the time.

    ...I just realized something.

...a hundred freakin' degrees Fahrenheight in mid-APRIL?  I thought those were summer temperatures!  Fucking hell.

    > First time in my life that it was too hot for even me

And it's only going to get worse. :P

Wait, it's already in the triple digits and just this winter the roofs were collapsing for a plethora of snow?

I don't even think Australia has it that bad when it comes to weather.
  • I have to say, I'm happy with our 45 F temperature right now.

    u mad Chuddles?

GLORIOUSLeader: Yep, one town over, in Vernon, Connecticut, the (thankfully empty) former Clyde Chevy dealership building collapsed under the weight of over THREE FEET of snow at one point this past winter.  I drive by it every time I go to a local grocery store.  And this was just one of the many roof collapses across the state this past winter.  Story here: http://articles.courant.com/2011-03-24/news/hc-vernon-building-collapse-0201-20110131_1_roof-collapse-building-structural-engineer
  • In Colorado, it can get as cold as -20°F (-28.9°C) in January and 105°F (40.6°C) in July.  Usually it is between 20°F (-6.7°C) and 95°F (35°C) at 4000 ft (1200 m) and -10°F (-23.3°C)  and 80°F (26.7°C) at 9000 ft (2750 m).  But we have A/C.

In Iraq it can be 140°F (60°C)... Or So I Heard.

  • 7 feet of snow.
  • Poot dispenser here
It's not as bad here in AZ, I think.

The hottest it gets here in Massachusetts around this time of year is like... 60 degrees Farenheit (15 degrees Celcius).

100 Farenheit is like... a really hot summer day, not a normal spring day...

Though, I assume Texas is less humid than Massachusetts, so that would affect things somewhat.
  • ^Oops you all meant spring not all year?  In that case it varies from 30°F (-1°C) to 80°F (27°C).  But mostly it is about 60°F (15°C) here.

Texas is very definitely less humid; there are wildfires ranging across the entire state right now.

Chagen, how are things where you are?
  • We're fine, only a small fire that got quickly snuffed out.

But yeah, Texas is burning right now. We're a dry state. Very dry. It rains like 6 times a year. It snowed last winter, but that was the first snow in at least 17 years.

I thought Corpus Christi had a white Christmas within the last decade.

Then again, you're probably talking about where you live, which probably isn't anywhere near Corpus Christi/Kingsville.

    Isn't rape legal in texas?
  • ...Okay, I guess I should let you guys know that I fucking HATE Everything Is Bigger In Texas.
  • You hate a lot of things, so this is no surprise.
  • Except Everything Is Bigger In Texas is directly and factually wrong, and is horribly defamatory towards my state.
  • It's just a stereotype.

It's actually not even a very negative one.
  • edited 2011-04-19 23:19:01
'Cause no other parts of the country have unfair stereotypes attached to them, right?
  • ☭Unstoppable Sex Goddess☭
    I know that for sure.

Because Everything Is Big In Japan.

^^ That said, some unfair stereotypes are better than others.

I mean... one of the main sterotypes of New England is... we have a lot of really good colleges...

Well, and being bad drivers and impatient and WASPy, I guess.
  • What are Ohio's unfair stereotypes, anyway?
