Nope Komodin. People have told me they were not in the complete wrong all of the time.

Well, admittedly, the "not being happy about how WW1 ended" bit's quite reasonable.
  • Individual Nazis may have been good people; just ones caught in a bad position.

As a political party, I don't think there's any way to salvage it.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
^The party did have some ideas that weren't pure evil. It doesn't redeem them in the slightest, but they did.
  • Because you never know what you might see.
^ This isn't the "why did the Nazis have to be evil, they were so progressive" thing, is it?  Because if so, fuck that.  I don't think you could redeem their philosophy in any circumstances; it was rotten to the core.

But yeah, some individual Nazis may have been OK.  Erwin Rommel seems to have been a pretty cool guy.

    OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
^As I said, it doesn't redeem them, but I mean that the Nazis did, on occasion, take an action that wasn't evil. Stuff like founding Volkswagen so that more people could afford cars. Nothing ideological or anything.
  • I don't like nazism in general, but Dr. Richtofen is absolutely wunderbar!
  • This thread makes me uncomfortable.

    Ditto.
  • You know who liked to bring up Nazis?  Hitler.
  • ☭Unstoppable Sex Goddess☭
    Yeah, and he is dead.
  • The Sonic Series Wiki Curator of TvTropes
    ... Or, is he?
  • ☭Unstoppable Sex Goddess☭
Well it's nearly impossible unlikely for another Hitler to rise into power since most countries are savvy enough to know that they don't want something like that happening again?

What ARE other countries' stances on the Holocaust anyway? the only stance I've heard is North America's.

I can't help but feel a little for people who got wrapped in the nazi party and seriously regretted it later. At the same time, I think that's one of the only times I can feel sorry for someone and find them repulsive at the same time.

Also, not that big a deal, but the thread title probably could've done without the swastikas. It makes it look like a joke thread to me for some reason. A really awful, fucked up joke thread.

    Okay, removed.
  • Woki mit deim Popo.
The only Nazi dudes I can think of that can be considered good are John Rabe and Oskar Schindler.
  • Didn't Schindler just associate with Nazis without being one himself?
  • Woki mit deim Popo.
You might have a point there.  I do know John Rabe was a Nazi at Nanking when the Japanese army came in.  If you're well versed in the Second Sino-Japanese War you would know what I'm talking about.
  • I know that he was a Nazi. The whole point is that he used his status in the Nazi party to try to stop or at least delay the massacre, yes?
  • Woki mit deim Popo.
He did try but at best he managed to make a safety zone.  He even tried asking Hitler to get the Japanese to stop the carnage but that went unheeded.
  • Because he doesn't care what happens to the Chinese, or the east in general., All that mattered was the extermination.

Let's be honest here. It would be ridiculously difficult to commit 100% evil actions. Hitler wakes up in the morning and eats a pancake. BAM! Not evil, for the moment. :)
  • There's a very distinct difference between good and neutral / "not evil".
  • ☭Unstoppable Sex Goddess☭
Except Hitler wasn't actively taking part in killing the millions of people that the Nazis did. He didn't go to the camps and shoot a whole line of them or torture hundreds of them by hand. His commands led to the evil deeds. I am not sure if he DID actually participate in the execution or torture of some of his prisoners, but I am sure that he was not 100% pure evil by his own hands. Without the Nazi Party...he wouldn't have really been undeniably evil. (subjective)

^^ He also had a dog. He pet it. :)

^ Umm... I haven't read ALL of Mein Kampf, but I've heard enough quotes. I've read enough speeches. Hitler was pretty much the driving force of Jew killing.

    ^^No one's really 100% evil.

    [/semanticsandbullshit]

With that out of the way, I'm sure some people could / do argue that he was just misunderstood or something like that, and that in perspective his actions weren't so bad, like how people take the side of a bullied kid shooting everyone at their school.

^And later killed it, if the rumor is to be believed.
  • He's a dipshit. That's all I need to know. I don't care he sometimes eats bagels or petted a dog at one point at his life, he still killed six million jews.
  • ☭Unstoppable Sex Goddess☭
....he and the Nazis killed six million jews.

^^Well, not "killed" so much as "was responsible for the killing of", but, same difference.

    ^Yeah, that, I guess.
