As the article notes:
TwitterX is disabling the Circles feature on October 31.* it's reportedly worth $8B now
* there are some investors who are looking to repossess the company from Musk
* the company is reportedly looking into turning itself into a shopping hub
* Elon Musk says that the company will remove the Like and Retweet buttons from the timeline
Like, we're having election season right now and somebody painted "[opposition leader] TRAITOR AND THIEF" on a roadside fence near my daily route. Normal thing in an election season, butexcept for the fact that "[opposition leader]" is just a letter away from "Musk". Not a connection I'd make, but somebody apparently did: so I'm passing there two days later, and I see it painted over so that it says "MUSK" now. The "TRAITOR AND THIEF" part was left unchanged. I can't make up my mind which if any of multiple ways to interpret this occurence is better than the others.
People who want something from established media usually go to the source (see: me, known hater of the failing New York Times, long time subscriber to the 'failing' New York Times).

If this is anything to go by, this was the Barbie vs. Bratz fight, with Barbie losing market share but Bratz being completely obliterated.
