Choosing an avatar and immediately feeling like doing something out-of-character for it

Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human

Frequently this has to do with putting up a serious character in my avatar and then feeling like posting something silly.

  • I am not a cute school idol.  This does bug me.

  • I feel weird the whole time I had Meenah as an avatar, because I like her but my personality and posting style aren't much like her at all.

I'm not much like Twilight Sparkle, either, I guess, but I dunno.

  • Fortunately, my avatar is perfect for everything.

  • But you never had any to begin with.

Fortunately, my avatar is perfect for everything.

    Becoming a vegetarian. :|

  • a little muffled

I feel like doing something that my avatar would never do.

    It's difficult.

  • Becoming a vegetarian. :|

Allow me to amend my statement to "for everything worth doing".

  • What is or isn't in character for Firo is hardly my concern! I have a snazzy green suit! Who cares what I do in it?

  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.

    Hey!

  • I know-- let's change all our avatars so that there's not a single anime avatar left! It'll be fun and new and exciting!!!

  • "It took hundreds to kill me but I killed humans by the thousands. I am sublime!!! I am the true face of evil!!!!!"

I don't think what picture you choose to display should have any effect on the character of posts... Where is the relevance?

  • Avatars have as much importance as a piece of cheese that was left on the bottom shelf of the freezer.

To first understand why anyone would care, you have to go through "why was it in the freezer in the first place"

Or since this is IJBM where site members get hot under the collar for semantics, the original question would be "why do I have cheese".

  • Or, "what is cheese?", followed by "What is 'what'?"

  • yea i make potions if ya know what i mean

    what is air

  • a little muffled

Actually, I think the original question was "How on Earth did I end up transported back in time to several million years before humans evolved?"

  • I rest my case.

  • I'm not sure if I'm ever in-character.

  • Not sure whether you're in character is part of your character.

  • Definitely not gay.

    I do like killing folks!

  • A Mind You Do NOT Want To Read

Okay, fine, but you'd better not try any of that here. (grabs sword, ready to unsheathe it)

  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!

On the contrary I like acting incredibly in-character for my avatars.

    FOR COBRAAAAAA!

Maybe I should bring back that 404 box, and y'all can pretend it's something appropriate for the situation

@Counterclock Somehow, I can imagine something like that with her.

  • Definitely not gay.

  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human

You're not Smithy or Smithy Magic Head.

...oh, right, you're doing something out of character.

  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.

Unless, of course, he is acting as Xykon.

  • I don't even call it violence when it's in self defence; I call it intelligence.

Uh... White Power and all that, I guess?

  • A Mind You Do NOT Want To Read

We're actually being in-character here, so maybe you should have left that until you got an Uncle Ruckus avatar...

  • I don't even call it violence when it's in self defence; I call it intelligence.

Huh. Well, I was a bit confused actually about whether we're in or out of character. In-character Malcolm X is much more fun, anyway:

"Don’t lay down our life all by itself. No, preserve your life. it’s the best thing you got. And if you got to give it up, let it be even-steven."

  • Definitely not gay.

Alright, which one of you S-O-Bs wants to die first?

  • I'm a damn twisted person

Seriously why the hell would you put cheese in the freezer?

  • "I will grant you two wishes; one for each testicle."

    jiggly
