I currently have 8 tabs open, and four of them are job-hunting things.
This is the most I've had open in months.
I usually have fewer than 6 tabs open.
This may be in part because the tabs are neither squeezed nor made into a scrollable row. I use multirow tabs, so if I have too many tabs open it actually reduces the viewing area of the page in order to show all my tabs.
44 tabs here at the present time. Also, I'm using Opera.
