I always find it amusing when the response to criticism of somebody's work is to take terrible, idiotic potshots at them and defile their character. It always makes the creator look far worse than the critic.
A good example to use is the American Godzilla remake. The Mayor of NYC and his assistant were clearly based on Siskel and Ebert, who had criticized Stargate previously, made by the same people who made Godzilla. They were protrayed as either cartoonishly evil or impossibly incompetent, and there are also a bunch of fat jokes targeted at Ebert, herp dee doo. In their review of the Godzilla remake, Siskel and Ebert made note of this and asked why, if they were in the movie, they were never eaten by Godzilla.
The best example, however, is Michael Crichton's book Next. His previous book, State of Fear, used bullshit lies and manipulation of data to "prove" that global warming was a myth (apparently Crichton thought that it supposedly caused earthquakes) and paint environmentalists as ecoterrorists willing to commit mass murder. Michael Crowley, a reviewer, gave the book not only a scathing review but debunked a few of its more salient points. Michael Crichton's response? Make one of the characters in Next, a man named Mick Crowley, a man with a tiny penis on trial for raping babies.

I thought both of those examples were hilarious, myself.
I really thought this was going to be about the whole ME3 ending thing.
Really the only good thing about the Godzilla remake was the new character design for our favorite giant radiation breathing lizard.
*coughcoughcough* Hopsin *coughcoughcough*
Can you show me a picture of this Godzilla redesign?
It looks a lot more like a dinosaur than the old one.
Ooooooh, that guy.
I love how dismissive they were about him in Final Wars.
Isn't his official name Zilla? Cause he takes the God out of Godzilla?
^Exactly.
The american' Godzilla cartoon was watchable, if I recall correctly.
I can go on and on about this topic for days. Godzilla, I mean.
"It'd be fine if it were a new monster but Toei officially made it a different monster for a reason. "
Do you mean Toho?
