    I've come to think of Islam much what I think of all organized religions. Load of shit that people believe because their cultural normalities make them do so.

    I don't dislike Muslims by any means, though.

    The thing though, is that, as far as I can see, all this--

    Applies to every major religion. Sans maybe Buddhism, but I don't know enough about that to be sure.

    That's basically what I was trying to convey.

    This doesn't of course, mean that you can't get some mileage out of the Islamic belief system, that would depend entirely on how much you agree with it. But the institution and tradition built up around that isn't the good part.

    And modern religions have so far shown nothing better.

    I can't see why people don't just believe what they think is right. But that's another discussion for another thread.

    I figure Islam is pretty much on par with Christianity. I've seen just as much to condemn on both sides.

    Even if I was religious, I doubt I could keep up that much ritualized prayer a day for more than a week.
