    They're somethin' else.
Best part of Skyward Sword so far:

Zelda: You... do know what happens at the end of the Ceremony, don't you Link? (bed room eyes)

    Link:
    >Nope.
    >Kinda.
    >... Uh Oh.

    XDDDDDDD
  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
Currently in the middle of episode 5 of Madoka. Taking a break due to my internets being shitty and slowing the stream.

One interesting thing I've noticed that Madoka's protagonist status is a result of perspective. Miki much more powerfully fits the heroic archetype, [giving up her wish for the sake of another person] and having a more wholehearted approach to her status and duties as a magical girl. Plus, she has a katana, which is pretty much shorthand for "hero" in anime where historical weapons are uncommon. It's almost as if it's a more "standard" magical girl plot from Miki's perspective (although I expect that'll crumble soon enough), but a more observant and analytical one from Madoka's. Madoka, [yet to become a magical girl], has something of an outsider's perspective towards all these events. So we get to observe and analyse the events alongside Madoka, [given she's only slightly more involved in what's going on than we are as an audience].

Structurally, it's shaping up to be a very clever anime.
  • You can change. You can.
Madoka's pretty much the greek chorus for the whole thing. Till the end when she makes her choice (Which is, incidentally, the theme of the series)
  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
I kind of guessed that [she wouldn't make her choice until the end], but I still could've done without the spoiler. -_-
  • Y'all are making me read the manga.

Damn paper and ink, non-psychedelic witches just aren't the same.
  • You can change. You can.
Bah, can't highlight spoilers from the phone.

    Can you pm that?

Also, it's not really much of a spoiler, considering the very first scene pretty much tells you what's madoka's role in the history right away.
  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
I'll give you that it's easy to guess, but not everyone's going to make that guess. Especially at face value.

^^ I just copy paste the spoilers into the posting area
  • But you never had any to begin with.

Somebody beat me upside the head so that I can go to sleeeeeeeeeeeeep x.x
  • You can change. You can.
    But i can't copypaste because i can't highlight anything! :<

  • You can change. You can.
    Stop teasing me, meanie. :(

Also, glad to hear you're actually sleeping, abomination.
  • You can change. You can.
Decided to reread sons of hurin.

Damnit, tolkien why do you have to use a billiona names per paragraph.
  • Good people don't end up here.
...and another book to add to my to-read list.
  • You can change. You can.
It really doesn't hold up to my memory of it.

It's not bad, though. Just incredibly slow

It probbly helps tht i'm incredibly sleepy right now.

I still think it's better than lotr, though
  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human
IJBM: Fantasy writers like to use all sorts of crazy names that makes it hard to remember who's who.

I mean, it's just as hard to remember who's Throdin Glammerstones and who's Mezzl'Ulthar as it is to remember who's Takeshi Murakami and who's Misaki Orodoki.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
Man, O'Reilly is such a prick. Tha way he claims he respected Lange's opinion and then talks down to him about how he should read a children's book to be educated.

    God, what an ass.
  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human
    Fucking Bill sucks?
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
Looking at car at a dealer with my sister. Evidently she has a taste for the huge SUVs. -_-
  • I'd say show her the environmental statistics, but a bunch of people don't give a hoot about those. Maybe showing her the long-term gas costs could scare her off.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
    >Implying she'll be the one paying.
  • Oh yes.

How do you teach responsibility to those kind of teenagers?

  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human
Why does she want a huge SUV?
  • You can change. You can.
Because they're pretty, spacey, big and they can run through everything?

Hell, if I could afford one, I'd buy one, but I know I can't.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
I agree with all of those except pretty. They're pretty damn bulky and gaudy, plus economy cars have slicker designs.
  • You can change. You can.
I like big tanks and i cannot lie.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
She keeps bringing up being able to drive safely in the snow, ignoring that we already have one of those and if weather conditions are serious enough to affect driving we're only going out for necessities are she sure as hell ain't going to be the one driving.
