Hello!
Welcome back. My favourite part of Gamergate is that the Ferguson controversy is happening at the same time. I know that the demographics of this forum mean that the former gets more attention than the latter, but it's still amusing to see my gamer thread be the largest non-megathread we've seen in a while, with more posts than everything related to Ferguson combined.
With the latter in part due to some guy struggling to ask about the issue without sounding cluelessly racist, heh eh heh heh.
It's also pretty black-and-white: victim good, cop bad, police militarization ridiculous, looters stupid, probably plenty more victims who don't make it to the news. (in b4 my initial reaction was probably something completely different because details weren't clear back then)
Well, the one good thing to come out of the Michael Brown shooting is how it's hit everyone smack dab in the face with black oppression. I'm hoping that this isn't soon forgotten, but considering how the general population has constantly demonstrated collective amnesia with regards to sociopolitical issues (hey, remember the time the Republicans held the world economy hostage over the USA taking baby steps towards catching up to the rest of the world's healthcare?), it's a stretch.
#staywoke
It's hard to believe that the government shutdown was almost a year ago already
Haven't the Republicans been threatening another shutdown?
edit: oh my gosh i almost spelled it "shitdown"
...would be more accurate wouldn't it
How many people would be interested in a Canadian opinion article liveblog? I've been interested in doing one because while everyone is well aware of the Daily Mail in the UK and the Wall Street Journal in the US, political nuts in Canada don't get nearly as much attention. But we do have a lot of nuts up here, even before that Sun News Network no one watches.
I'd probably read it.
I like the diversity of stuff I have in my Pictures\cartoons folder.
Among its contents are things related to Superman comics, the Magic School Bus, Angel Moxie (the webcomic), RWBY, Brawl in the Family, the Nanoha franchise, AKB0048, Homestuck, Homestar Runner, Stellvia, The Simpsons, xkcd, Voltron, iDOLM@STER, Gyrozetter, Felix the Cat, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, and Voltron.
Gotta love the dual meaning of "cartoons" being both animated and static drawn media. It's particularly convenient when you have stuff that's got both anime and manga incarnations. Though it's a little moot since I don't read manga...
Oddly, iM@S is classed under "cartoons", while Touhou is classed under "games".
no, that's pictures/cartoons/don't click/really don't click/

I dunno 'bout you guys, but I just label my special folder with what it actually is. I figure anyone who willingly clicks on a folder labeled "C:\Users\Alice\graphic depictions of My Little Pony characters engaging in incestuous sexual relations\" gets what they deserve.
"Squad, put 'em in the coffin" followed by falling (or even jumping!) backwards onto some object is one of the stupidest memes ever.
I should throw my internet memes into a folder by that name.
How to hide porn:
1. Buy an extra hard drive and install it in your computer, but don't set it to be mounted by default.
2. Put porn on that drive.
3. Nobody ever finds your porn because nobody remembers how the fuck mount(8) works.
guess
im gonna guess it's under star driver because there's no way anyone liked that show enough to still have it on their drive three years later
ew, have more consistent folder names.
I think I still do!
Actually if the external drive rescued from my old laptop counts, I probably still have Star Driver on there.
I can't check because I don't remember how mount(8) works.
Anything with a funny name I'm still seeding to bakabt. >:
I don't use funny names because my client can customize names.
My porn folder is in C:\Users\Eric West\Pictures\NSFW
Guys...
I don't have porn on my system.
*runs away*
I'm actively inconsistent with folder names for downloaded videos because I can do that.
This is what I was hinting at earlier when I said "just call it what it is", but I thought the pony porn thing was funnier. *shrug*
Since I don't think we have an African politics thread, posting this here: http://www.aljazeera.com/news/africa/2014/07/ugandans-baffled-sleeping-ministers-20147227580164600.html
