Adobe Photoshop
Even with student discounts and the student edition it costs $200. That's just... Damn, how do they justify charging so much that even with an 80% discount it costs $200?

Somebody should really work on something just as good (or at least almost as good - this includes easy to use) as Photoshop and really undercut their price
There are ways...around the extortionate price tag y'know.

Does Adobe have stranglehold patents on the stuff in the program or something?
GIMP isn't that hard to figure out if you use it for a while. It confused the hell out of me at first but when I switched to Linux and couldn't use Paint.NET anymore I managed to figure it out easily enough.
What do you want to use Photoshop for anyway?

hint: Photoshop is mostly purchased by big companies.

My friend Zeemoocow is much more used to GIMP than she is to Photoshop. Mainly because at first she had to choice but to use GIMP, since she couldn't really afford Photoshop and her parents weren't willing to buy it for her.
If I particularly wanted to go into art, then chances are I'd also be much more accustomed to GIMP.
