I guess what I'm trying to say is it's like trying to put out a fire.  Yeah you really need to put it out, but the PC bullshit is like an oversensitive suppression system in a crowded building that isn't on fire and hasn't been in a very long time.

MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!

    >Yes. And Malk is really your sister.

What are we doing on the bed, Juan?

    Serious now.

The thing about the 'don't talk about it' is that it's a really good theory, but things like social economics and lingering racism, history of abuse still muddle it.

The 'don't bring it up' thing I think only works on an interpersonal level rather than on a wider basis.

    I hate you, onii-chan!

I don't quite agree, as i think a lot of the whole racism thing is simply the way people go out of their way to please minorities without realizing the full implications of doing so (Again, the whole black history month irks me to no end. Everyone should be able to celebrate their own culture without making an special occasion of it and everyone should remember to respect different cultures without doing that) and that this things are done massively, but I do quite agree that you can't simply pretend to sweep racism under the rug and then hope it'll go away, because it is still there, just not as noticeable as it was once.
