I've heard many people say this, but I haven't seen a single person call FF7 the greatest FF game ever made. In fact, I hear more people calling VI that. Am I looking in the wrong places?

    Yes, graphics do matter.  They matter in terms of making a game more fun and they even matter if the only thing you care about is the story.
