That's a good a way as any to get one.
Are used ones significantly more affordable?
I think that new ones are cheaper, actually. It's easier to build one from scratch than to craft one that fits someone else's specs.
I can get you some spare parts in good shape if you're willing to pay in trust, respect and a little self-doubt.
