"OMG! Miku is not a lesbian!"
This is a complaint I see fairly often on Vocaloid-based yuri videos ("Miku" could just as easily be replaced by any other female vocaloid name).
Yes, and by that logic, she's not a princess or a tsundere or a murderer, either.
She's just a voice and a face! She can be whatever the user wants her to be!
A lesser IJBM is that I almost never see these kinds of complaints with yaoi videos... Double standards ahoy...

Also Miku's only love is BACON HOT-DOGS
Do they even have some kind of story?
I don't get the obsession with the vocaloid characters beyond the context of the software.
Do they even have some kind of story?
I think part of the appeal is the fact that they lack a story (well aside from a manga) and so people can make vocaloid characters act however they want them to act (as Haldo said). I guess this is a bit of a stretch, but I feel like it is kind of similar to why things like LEGO, Minecraft, and custom character makers in MMORPGs are relatively popular.
If that's the case, why are these people so upset with other people depicting Miku as a lesbian? Your headcanon is no greater than somebody else's headcanon.
I think that's the point the OP was trying to make.
... I think I'm in love...
