People using childhood trauma as a puss-out card

I know that sounds a little harsh and trauma is a legitimate struggle, but what does being neglected by your parents have to do with this piece of "erotica" that I am critiquing for you?

Comments

  • Ah, poor snowy. What happened?
  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
People have used this excuse to justify their crappy fanfiction? Really?
  • When in Turkey, ROCK THE FUCK OUT
They play the sympathy card to make people feel bad for criticizing them. It reminds me of an early, stupid Care Bears WMG that ended with "This Troper has Asperger's, so please no criticism."

Gee, I feel bad for having aspergers and childhood trauma but being able to function like a perfectly sane individual, but see all of these other kids go "I gots de bawwtism and de chad molisterid" and drawing sonic porn and writing crappy fanfics.

Or use it as an excuse to shit up forums with sympathy fishing trawls.
  • For some reason, those kinds of excuses make me doubt the sincerity of their trauma claims. I am inclined to believe that something like your parents dying isn't something you're going to want to say to anyone, and using such things to justify such trivial matters comes off as outright insulting.

And yeah, Asperger's. I am really embarrassed to be associated with that label on the Internet.

  • To quote the Onion, research concludes that rape survivor poetry is the number one most important reason to prevent rape.

One thing that bugged me is that I never knew that Asperger's existed until my doctor told me and my parents about it, and then after that, almost everyone I knew suddenly had it too.
  • You can change. You can.
Are you a diagnosed aspie, Vorpy?
  • @ AHR: Someone put erotica on a Facebook note. I critiqued it. Wangst ensued.

@ Neo_Crimson: They do now, apparently.

  • Bahahahah. Someone put smut on facebook? Fuck dat.
  • My friend's girlfriend posts awful allegedly-erotic sorta-fanfic on Facebook.  Though I can't tell if she wrote it or if she copypasta'd from somewhere.
  • When in Turkey, ROCK THE FUCK OUT
Heather then stretched her cheeks apart and stuffed Lindsay's vagina in the anus, and let Lindsay's cum shoot into Heather.

  • Not to mention love songs and anonymous confessions or rants to people that are not mentioned by name and the writer will never dare speak to about this.

I could probably liveblog this shit, but... hm...

Well, at least they have some logic to their annoyances.

I tend to just encounter people who just insult me and be done with it.

Not that this is about me.

    I will shut up now.
  • It may be because I'm a high schooler and most of the people I know are high schoolers, but when I think about a lot of the stuff that passes for sociality in that environment, I can't help but think that a lot of it is fucking stupid.

    Belief
People are responsible for their actions.

this is true no matter what happened to them in the past, or what they're afflicted by.

If you wish to hear more about my philosophy, just ask,

Are you a diagnosed aspie, Vorpy?

The doctors said so, but I disagreed with them and told them to de-diagnose me because I thought they were wrong. I am in the strong belief that I am NOT an asper, regardless of what the doctors say.
  • @Vorpy: What sort of things did they do to diagnose you?
  • ☭Unstoppable Sex Goddess☭
They made me look at an assortment of pictures, write some lines of text, talked with me a lot about math problems and remembering things like "what number is blue/what was the 3rd question I asked you", drew my blood for testing, asking for references from my behavioral health worker, and checked up on my mental health and emotional control on a weekly basis.

Not sure which ones were tests or which ones were communication exercises though.

How much experience you have in this "social interaction" thing?

    They asked for feedback.

Social interaction? What's that? Some new sort of science?
