It's in D major.  The _ means that that note is in the next octave down, not the same octave as the rest of them.

    Yeah, I heard that all the time when I went to church



    Never knew the name though (I think they always did instrumental, so that didn't help), and I last went to church 2 or 3 years ago

    Neither of the churches I frequent play it, but it sounded familiar nonetheless.  It might've been something the organ does in the background.
