So when "Coraline" was advertised as "from the director of the Nightmare Before Christmas" (Henry Selick) people thought, and still think, that it was a Tim Burton film despite him never touching it whatsoever.
Now the stop motion film "Paranorman" is being advertised "From the creators of Coraline," doesn't have Burton OR Selick, and people are still calling it a Tim Burton movie.
God damn it everything weird, quirky and creative is not Tim Burton.
In fact, Tim Burton hasn't even been those things for like five movies now.

Those movies have the same sort of weird cartoonish semi-Gothic atmosphere that people commonly associate with Tim Burton. That sort of style's pretty much a signature of his work.
But do they have Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter? That's another signature of his work.
André Breton doesn't deserve this insult.
ETA: Whoops, misread as Breton instead of Bretron.
