It just bugs me, because in reality, magic doesn't work.

ImageMagick works pretty well.
I'm sorry I couldn't hear you. I was too busy creating entire worlds with just a pen and paper.
That's why I don't have any magic in my fictional settings.
They get called "psionics." See? That's a sciencely word.
There aren't that many outstanding holes in the rules.
The religious view that magic is just the trickery of demons honestly makes ten times more sense than it just being a force that changes reality. I can totally buy invisible monsters making fireballs and telling you the future, but a person doing it by sheer will or some kind of "magic energy?" That's SILLY.
