D words

edited 2012-02-15 10:47:25 in General

Not a snowclone but an actual subject that just happened to be kind of inspired by the S words post.

I have always wondered why the letter D has the largest number of significant "negative" words. Can anyone think of a reason?

Doom

Yeah, some of these may just be products of the "de" and "dis" prefixes, but that's debatable (another one!) as who ever heard of being gusted or vious?

The only positives I can think of are delicious, delightful, darling, dear, definite and desirable.
