This Trailer for Star Wars Episode 1 in 3D

Jar Jar's actually the worst part of the prequels, except for Hayden Christensen's acting. Which means the films are not entirely bad, unless we start taking into account things like the "Whole goddamn script"
anyway, i never watched the phantom menace, i only vaguely remember Attack and I enjoyed REvenge, if it was a bit dumb.
The horrible romance makes Attack painful to watch for me.
Revenge was just fun and occasionally awesome.
The final fight in Revenge would have been soooo much better if Christensen could act.
McDiarmid made up for it though.
'UNLIMITED POWAAAAAAAAAAAR!'
I know it was hammy as hell, but Obi-Wan's breakdown after cutting up Anakin still gets me.
I think that was the last time I've watched more than a few minutes of Star Wars
2004 I think.
Last time I watched was... well, I started a liveblog on that.
>Pretends he doesn't like Star Wars
Hayden Christensen is supposed to be good in Shattered Glass and other roles, so it's more likely he just got stuck with a bad character. One that happened to be really popular and thus overshadowed his other (admittedly more obscure) stuff.
Shattered Glass is a really good movie!
Or at least, I liked it a lot.
Nah, I think played well, Anakin could have been a better character. I think he got stuck with a bad director.
He was written quite poorly, as was the romance.
He was, but I think acted and directed better, he could have been, well, tolerable.
I'm not entirely sure about Christensen's acting roles, based on his roles post Star Wars. Then again, Vin Diesel's supposedly a great indie director regardless of how much he sucks at...pretty much everything in his other movies, so...make of that what you will. Maybe blockbusters suck the life and talent out of some actors.
I didn't want to start a new Star Wars thread, but thought this was worth seeing:

What.
Why, George, why? Why do you have to validate the wankers by being a wanker rather than leave well enough alone?
I thought before this, he'd claimed it was just because ratings criteria had changed between releases.
If it is true that he always pictured that, that's just further proof that his work quality is directly proportional to how many editors he answers to.
I think it's simply Lucas promoting the new releases + jadedness, to be honest.
Lucas says a different thing every three weeks, guys.
He's been seen wearing "Han Shot First" t-shirts on set, even.

Speaking of Star Wars, Mr. Plinkett had the kindness to record a commentary track for those being dragged into watching the Phantom Menace.
>Mr Plinkett
>Kindess to record something.
Oh man, I've always wanted to listen to someone make the same joke 52359083259083205 billion times while watching pod racing.
The best commentary is made in your own head, especially since most commentaries commit the mortal sin of explaining the joke constantly.
The problem I see with commentary like Rifftrax and MST3K is that it often lacks the charm of the two mentioned simply because most of the commentaries come off as pretentious nerds talking about their pet peeves with known movies rather than the serious insight they wish they were accomplishing or the witty and funny commentary they're aiming for.
^ This, this, this.
I thought I was ambivalent to the prequels but after Plinkett's reviews I suddenly realized I completely hated them all along and always wished that they had just never existed.
Under the comedy they are some of the most genuinely insightful reviews I've ever seen, putting my deep-seated loathing into the words I never found on my own.
