My brother is breaking up with his girlfriend

This is legitimately the most emotional I've seen him in years. He's really taking it hard, I'm worried about him.

  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
Just be there for him if he needs you.
  • A cooldown period with no contact whatsoever with the dudette greatly helps, even if they break up on friendly terms. Ditch her from his Facebook feed, etc. If they have a mutual circle of bros, make sure he still keeps seeing them on self-organized occasions to avoid losing-her=losing-your-social-life. Above all, don't be scared if his mood fluctuates like a rollercoaster: the cycle of compensatory happiness/mopeyness-after-something-reminds-him-of-her is pretty common for some weeks after a break-up.

  • It turns out he's suicidal.

I don't know how to deal with this.

  • Get him into psychological counselling ASAP, and inform your parents. If he's being dramatic, the hassle will snap him out of it. If he's serious, then there are people out there better equipped to handle it than you yourself.

  • Yeah, get him into counseling, they're the ones whose job is to get people out of that shit.
