Confusion status effects
Why is it that, no matter which game it is in, confusion is highly dangerous at best, or game-ending at worst?
Pokémon: The RNG becomes an actively opposing force. ...Er, more so.
Final Fantasy: You either lose a caster, or lose control of a character who can wipe out party members in one hit.
Digital Devil Saga: The character performs random actions. Including Revert, of all things. Which leaves them even more useless. And, unlike FF, being hit doesn't snap them out of it.
Is it too much to ask for a confusion effect that isn't horribly frustrating?
