Something I just realized about the cover of Justice League #1 (the reboot)
GREEN LANTERN IS SUMMONING A BIG ASS GUN RIGHT IN FRONT OF BATMAN. HOW DID NO ONE CATCH THAT.
And I was wondering why Batman was such an asshole to him in the comic.
Comments
And Cyborg's got a gun for arm. What's your point? Batman works with people who use guns (like Commissioner Gordon). He just won't use them himself.
Heck, Alfred owns a fucking shotgun!
Well, it looks like it's slightly behind him. Maybe he's hoping he won't notice.
Ninja'd with a more reasonable, less jokey reason.
^^Calling Cyborg's specifically non-lethal arm-canon a gun is false and it's the fucking Green Lantern. He can summon anything his imagination wills and he summons a goddamn gun. Great first impression Hal.
ALSO I JUST REMEMBERED BATMAN PALMED OFF HAL'S RING LIKE IT WAS FUCKING NOTHING GOD DAMN THAT COMIC IS FUCKING STUPID.
^ A gun filled with beanbag rounds is still a gun. Non-lethalness does make it less of a gun. Hal is also a jet fighter pilot. What kind of guns modern fighers like the F-22 have? Miniguns. What's he summoning? A minigun.
And again, Batman doesn't give a shit about about Gordon or Alfred using guns (the later to defend the batcave, see Batman/Superman), why would he care about GL's?
Oh yeah, and what kind of guns does batman put on the batwing and batmobile? MINIGUNS!
My question is what is batman doing? He's clearly not flying, coz, well, he can't without aid. Yet he's clearly a few feet above Cyborg (his waist being at about cyclop's shoulders). So is he trying to tackle Cyborg?
EDIT: I durred
The Batwing and Batmobile don't have guns on them. Also Alfred shouldn't be using a gun.
And non-lethalness makes all the difference, because you know... it was guns that KILLED his parents, so lethality is kind of an issue.
@Ghilz: I doubt he is trying to tackle someone from a different comic.
Yet Alfred does.
In fact from these pics, Alfred owns MANY guns. So again, Batman gives 0 shits about OTHER people using guns.
Also, because it's funny and relevant... This image from the upcoming new animated Batman Show, Beware The Batman. Yes, that IS Alfred going Gun Akimbo.
^^ Even discounting that (And many, many, many authors have shown Alfred with a gun). Comissioner Gordon uses a gun. Yet Batman never says a word. So if Batman can tolerate Gordon, why not GL?
If it makes you feel better, you can always tell yourself GL's minigun is loaded with rubber rounds.
^The other is a space cop AND an air force captain.
"Earth cops can use guns. Space Cops or Military personel? That's too far! I'm the bat!"
They fight crime!
^I'd read that.
I thought that that was settled by the fact that he died and served God for a long time.
^^^ I never said "Competent" space cops.
well, yeah, I wasn't disagreeing. I was just saying that that particular example was kinda flawed. but you're right in that while GL obviously borrows from procedurals, he's not exactly a cop.
> new animated Batman image
> fucking katanas
> it's always a fucking katana
> what's wrong with a sabre or something
Considering the girl is literally called Katana, and actually is actually Japanese, that makes sense.
I mean, Sabre is a Marvel character! Duh!
I expected silver sabre, huh.
