The ending choice of Saints Row 3 (spoilers, obviously)

edited 2012-01-21 13:55:01 in Media

So I can either kill the disgraced, humilated mob boss who was never much of a threat to begin with and is now running away and let my friends Burt Reynolds die and let a fascist military organization frame me for domestic terrorism , OR I can save my friends Burt Reynolds and my homies and prevent a fascist military organization framing me for domestic terrorism.

GEE I WONDER WHICH CHOICE I SHOULD MAKE

    OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!

Sounds like one of those games that had one ending scripted, and then someone at the studio went "wait, no! Multiple endings add replay value! Even poorly-implemented ones where you only have to reload your save to see all of them!"

Also on that list: Bioshock, likely DXHR, and I'm sure I can think of others.

  • They let you re-make the choice in the post-game, apparently.

  • Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
I thought DXHR (and maybe Bioshock, I forget) planned to have the multiple endings, but ran out of time to implement them better.

Bioshock originally only had the two variations on the evil ending.

You're probably right about DXHR, though, since the original game also had multiple endings...
