I have never been fond of the opens (which are watered-down from the original 2006 versions; this, IIRC, is what the 2006-2008 11AM open looked like), and the music doesn't fit them. It lacks sobriety.

For some reason the way he says "Live from Denver 7!" is annoying. I mean..."Denver 7"?
"He" is Bill Ratner. The station's on-air brand is "Denver's 7".
Yeah, but saying that "7 NEWS" is "live from Denver's 7" seems stupidly redundant.
"Live from Denver's 7" goes back to at least when they were using Overture, though the inclusion of the talent made it less awkward:
