One foot in front of the other, every day.

What scum. Cowards and brutes, all of them.

This is the sort of thing that inspired me to take up martial arts in the first place, and the sort of thing that makes me want to push my abilities even further. I suspect these men would be highly distressed if they were on the recieving end of similar violence -- or perhaps a little worse.

  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.

Gotta love how the man doesn't even raise a fist, and they still continue.

    Goddammit.

  • Fuck those guys. Seriously. Stopping shit like this if I can is half of the reason why I want to join the military.

  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
  • Yes Cygan. Rather than stepping in and attempting to stop them, I'm going to simply shoot the guy they're beating up.

  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.

I'm sure it would be less painful?

Trying to stop things like this in a violent manner would be inadvisable.

Good idea. I see something like this, I'll shoot the guy, spare him the pain.

Yeah, maybe it would be inadvisable. Doesn't mean I wouldn't try to stop it if I thought I could instead of just making it worse.

  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.

Unless you miss, then he has several minutes of agonizing pain before he dies, leaving behind all his hopes and dreams, secure in the knowledge that everybody he cares about is going to be feeling agonizing grief for weeks.

Going into the police force would be a lot better for that.

Assuming I don't just shoot again. Assuming I even have a gun on the streets of Sydney anyway.

    But that's a full-time job. Also, paperwork.

  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.

It may be a full-time job, but a police officer is a lot more directly involved in helping people.

  • It's also not an Engineering discipline.

  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.

Don't quote me on this, but I'm fairly sure learning to point a gun and shoot a trigger doesn't have a whole lot to do with Engineering either.

  • Not unless you're a Hollywood Engineer, no.

  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.

    Then I don't see how that's a relevant argument.

  • edited 2012-01-17 06:25:13

It isn't, because I intend to join the Army Reserve.

And possibly the Royal Australian Engineers, but that's much less likely.

  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.

    OK.

  • Glad we settled that.

  • One foot in front of the other, every day.

The police would definitely be much better for stopping this. We want as few deaths as possible on our heads, and usually that means none. If violent conflict were to occur, demoralisation is preferable over lethality anyway.

If only because a lethality will likely worsen the situation due to making people truly fear for their lives, whereas demoralisation makes them more likely to stop quietly and give up, yeah.

  • It's inadvisable to what-I-would-do in hypothetical violent scenarios unless you've actually had some experience with them.

Also, video has since been removed. Any other relevant link, preferably without Guile Theme?

  • They're somethin' else.

I dont know. I don't think i ever wanna see that again.
