  • You can change. You can.

    copypasta?

  • Well, that was a thing.

  • He who laments and can't let go of the past is forever doomed to solitude.

    Ha.

  • One foot in front of the other, every day.

    copypasta?

    what the hell, Juan

    what. the hell.

  • One foot in front of the other, every day.

It pretty much blew my mind that Juan didn't know where this was from.

    Like.

    I dunno.

I just assumed that he had seen it. Because. Well. Damn.

    MALK GET IN HERE.

  • Meh, it's not that weird if you don't know it, that meme isn't that Major.

  • He who laments and can't let go of the past is forever doomed to solitude.

    Hellsing, bah, Kuroshitsuji is better/troll.

  • You can change. You can.

how many times do i have to say that i've only watched 4 animes

  • But I thought Hellsing would be one of them you know what I don't care. Anyway, I saw this coming from MILES away, and I am genuinely surprised people still find this funny.

  • You can change. You can.

...K-On? Really Juan? Not trying to insult you but I am legit shocked.

  • Has friends besides tanks now

    What about Madoka?

  • Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
I thought you'd seen Cowboy Bebop.

    You can change. You can.

    Oh yeah, Madoka. Miscounted.

I thought you'd seen Cowboy Bebop.

Never finished it. Only counting finished stuff. Otherwise, we'd have a fucking big list. of twenty series.

    that's big, right

^^^I like musical comedies. --shrug-- It's not Spinal Tap, of course, but it still was charming enough to watch after boring study sessions.

  • I assume this is a rousing speech from Hellsing adapted to address "internet warfare".

Having done something similar with a passage from the book version of Goodfellas in an earlier thread, I can only envy Blackbird's dedication in doing such a long extract.

  • But you never had any to begin with.

I assume this is a rousing speech from Hellsing adapted to address "internet warfare".

Well, if by a "rousing speech", you mean the words of an utterly insane war loving major...
  • You can change. You can.

But if the speech is about riling the troops up, isn't it still a rousing speech regardless of how dickish the person giving the speech is?

  • ^ FWIW, I think it would be as far as the trope page for Rousing Speech is concerned. Any of us might not consider it subjectively rousing.

    Tch.

  • I clench my fists and yell "anime" towards an uncaring, absent God, and swear solemnly to press my thumbs into Chocolate America's eyeballs until he is blinded, to directly emasculate sporting figures, to beat the shit out of tumblr users with baseball bats, and to quietly appreciate what Waylon Smithers being gay means to me.

But if the speech is about riling the troops up, isn't it still a rousing speech regardless of how dickish the person giving the speech is?

Context is key. I think we can all agree that a speech about how expanding into new territory is important for a growing population is somewhat acceptable until we learn that it's from Adolph Hitler.

  • Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.

Being for a terrible thing doesn't make it not a rousing speech by definition, though.

  • Aren't the only two requirements for a rousing speech just that something is a speech and that it, well, roused people?

That seems objective enough, and doesn't really have anything to do with who said it.

  • You can change. You can.

Yeah, even if it roused people to do terrible deeds, it's still a rousing speech, as it's intention is to encourage people to do something.
