Waiting for my brother to actually touch the Deux Ex copy we rented.

The game arrived a week ago and yet he's not even touching due to his Mass Effect spree.

I mean, come on, I want some games I want to rent from GameFly too.

    Human Revolution or the original?

Human Revolution. He wanted to rent it for a reason and when it's finally here, he's ignoring it at the moment.

I'd take it back myself, but I consider that a dick move to take it back without him actually playing it.

Have you played it? It's pretty good, though it has a number of flaws that weren't in the original.
  • Not really.

I don't know, I've never been that interested in the overall setting and feel of the Deus Ex series. I am sure it is a good game though, so maybe I'll give it a shot.

Fair warning: it's part of the premise of the series that any build is viable. In Human Revolution, this still applies...except in boss battles, where you will be utterly destroyed unless you're a combat specialist and/or, in two of them, have specific upgrades.
  • Sure that sounds interesting, I do know I am the kind of person to find one build and stick with it and ignore everything else. :P

    I'll give it a shot.

Oh, I should warn you that there's one hacking upgrade that literally does nothing. You'll know it when you see it, since it describes an effect that already happens anyway. Just thought I should mention that.

I wonder if my state of mind will affect my experience.

I mean I've held no interest in these games before. Even the original didn't catch my eye. Cyberpunk and conspiracy theories are really my cup of tea.

Still might as well try it before returning it as not to be wasteful.
  • Plus it has a bitchin' main theme.
  • Huh? Really not your cup of tea, you mean?
  • Yeah, most likely.

I said I was going to try out Human Revolution, but then I started getting second thoughts.
