Why did the N64 controller have a D-Pad?
Seriously,how many games actually used it? Three? Four? And on the same note,why did the PsOne controller have not one,but two analog sticks?
Comments
IIRC the original PS1 controller had zero analog sticks, but there were a few games that used the dual-shock controller to pioneer the two-stick style we're all used to now.
And as for N64 games that used the D-Pad not in menus, I can only think of Kirby's Crystal Shards,Yoshi's Story and Mischief Makers
That game was so Nintendo Hard it wasn't even funny.
They wanted:
* level-by-level format (like the classicvanias)
* lots of plot events/complexity
* 3D platforming
If only they had instead done 3D castletroids.
