Vaclev Havel died today.
Vaclev Havel died today. He was the President of Czechoslovakia from 1989 to 1992, and President of the Czech Republic from 1993 to 2003.
Havel played an important role in ending the cold war relatively bloodlessly.
And he died on the same day as Kim Jong-Il, apparently. So as a result, the story will likely not get much coverage outside of the Czech and Slovak Republics.
