    North of the border, yo.
  • Canada, eh?
  • Loonie land all up in this bitch. I'm swimming in them as we speak.
  • I've got a whole box full of coins, many of which are these dollar coins. (But there are also coins from ALL the nations. ALLLLLLLL of them.)

    But yeah, I wish they weren't so rare. Same with the half dollar coin.

    Khwarizmi's ignorance about U.S. currency prior to this thread amuses me, and I don't mean that in a condescending way.

    I guess I never really thought about how that could happen and lead to misconceptions in a movie. I wonder how often that same confusion occurs for non-Americans?

    It sort of reminds me about how some people know more about U.S. law than law in their own country, but I guess this is sort of the opposite.

    Anyway, does it seem backwards to anyone else that we still use pennies? Hell, even nickels are pushing it, and they're worth five times as much.
  • Nickels are useful.

    Pennies, I just chuck them in a nearby trash can. Or water fountain.
  • Some vending machines refuse to take pennies.

    Without pennies, it's impossible to get exact change. That seems...kinda important?

    Melt all your pennies down and make a copper statue of Abraham Lincoln.

    ^ What if all the prices either ended in a 5 or a 0?

  • I remember thinking of a way to use pennies to get infinte wealth, but it's illegal.

    But I think it would work. You could, over time, accrue infinite money.

    @DonZabu: Sales tax?
  • Sales tax already involves rounding, anyway.

    I suppose.
