  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
    It's stupid.

  • That song, "Otherworld" from the intro to Final Fantasy X was labelled as a Rammstein song.

    inb4 tidus laugh
  • I find the most often re-occurring  mislabels are Otherworld as a Rammstein song as said above, and the attribution of many parody songs as Weird Al songs, even though he did not write or sing them.
  • ^ I remember reading the Weird Al one somewhere on TV Tropes before. In capitalist America, Weird Al Yankovich is only parodist (he's barely known in the UK).
  • Likes cheesecake unironically.
It's more general (I don't know if it even happens on Youtube much), but similar to the Otherworld thing, a lot of people seem to misattribute German metal songs to Rammstein. Judging from that, they are the only band, who do metal/rock with German lyrics, which is not exactly the case.

I can understand this a bit, since there are some bands that sound quite similar, but one should be able to tell them apart through the voice of the vocalist.
  • You can change. You can.

I don't know why people think that Ayumi Hamasaki did "Butterfly".  It's the work of smile.dk.
  • ^^ There's a slight excuse for the Jimi Hendrix one, in that he did at least cover "Sunshine of Your Love" - that's just not his version. There's no excuse for labelling it "Cocaine", since that's by JJ Cale and Hendrix never recorded it.
  • Hm... I think I've seen some instances of people attributing Deltron 3030 songs to the Gorrilaz, but... other than that I can't think of too many instances of this (other than things like saying that "Love Shine" is by BeForU when it's officially credited just to Riyu Kosaka, or things like that)
  • ^^^^

    >See embedded video title

    >"Heh, Hendrix didn't do that song, that's a Clapton song!"

    >Return several hours later and listen to the song

    >Not even "Cocaine", nor Hendrix of any sort

    O_O
