"Not all homophobes are bigots. Some have their mind geared to be afraid of homosexuality due to social pressures..."

Some people are also racist because of societal pressures. They're still bigots.

Regardless of whether it's bigotry or not, it's still wrong. Discrimination against any particular group is always wrong.
