Not thinking things through in games
After travelling over 7 KM (more like 10) over ocean in Minecraft, I found some animals on mainland (and some snow and pumpkins to boot). I had to use Peaceful at times because fuck keeping a herd in check and fighting off hostile mobs while nearly 8 KM from spawn. There is ~7.5 KM between the ice shore of mainland and my home island. About a KM in I realized something:
I never prepared a pen
Now I'll need to juggle cutting down trees, making fences and gates, making a pen, and keeping the animals from wandering out to sea
I can trap the chicken in my house (although there are mines under there...), but the two pigs, two cows, and two sheep are another story
Oh, and whenever I exit Minecraft I need to be in water no deeper than one block as boats rocket off if you're in them and you reload a world
At least you don't lose hunger when moving a boat
...And at least on the trip to the mainland I got two endermen to suicide in the water by aggroing them from my boat
