My D&D group started a new campaign, but now I wanna play Vampire: the Requiem instead
I mean, the settings (WoD in general, and V:tR) already interested me anyway, but I've read through the core book and it's already really promising before the rules and all. As bad as my experiences with play-by-post games have been, I'd consider playing it online, since I don't think I could GM a game like this.
But a little while ago, I had the idea to start playing a variant of D&D (tristalt) that has turned out to be completely ridiculous and inadvertently encouraged powergaming within the campaign (for instance, I made a level 6 character with 73 AC and 158 HP, partly because I felt the need to keep up and the other players' backup characters are probably going to be somewhere around that power level as well . . .). If I then break it on them that all this work they've put in might be scrapped, at the expense of D&D period, it won't be pretty.
What do?
